Distance Casting - unintentional curve

OK, will give that a shot! I mean, I can carry 27 meters - but those loops are in no way useable for a real cast...

But anyway, I'll try to just carry without launching and see where that gests me - that tighter loop morphing sounds great! - thanks! :-)

Cheers! :-)

Distance Casting - unintentional curve

I have two Edding marks on the MED - 22m and 25m, I tried to make the 25 my standard and I can do reasonable loops, but they are by far not as nice as the ones I do with the 22m, where I can basically decide how tiny i want to have them. Still the cast goes(if everything adds up) further if i shoot ...

Distance Casting - unintentional curve

That could very well be, as I always concentrate mostly on my forward cast, thinking the back cast is good already... Are you sighting the back target before making that cast in the same way that you do on the forward? I sight, cast, check the loop and focus at the front target before the loop has ...

Distance Casting - unintentional curve

Hey James!

Thanks - will take that into account too! I 'm not too good with stiff rods - I'm always better or at least more consistant with a 5 or 6 wt, which could be a hint, I'm not that good with timing - as a softer rod is probably a bit more forgiving there...

Cheers! :-)

Distance Casting - unintentional curve

Aiming your backcast at a target that is off shoulder and not directly behind you will cause the line to hook in the manner you describe. That could very well be, as I always concentrate mostly on my forward cast, thinking the back cast is good already... Thanks! As said, will show some footage nex...

Distance Casting - unintentional curve

Hola Paula! :p I´m a right hand caster and the hook is always to the left - always. which is strange: one "curve" could be underpowered the other overpowered, but always the left ... I use the #5 MED for distance or usually not so much distance casting - the TT was just for the examples be...

Distance Casting - unintentional curve

How to get rid of the bloody distancecast L aka unintentional curve cast if you go for distance? I've never really trained much for distance (a bit during preparation for the MCI, to make it look smooth and easy and the months after...) except for last year - basically went out 5 times a week for ar...

casting 7wt. for spey work MCI

Yesterday I stripped of around 10 meters of backing and that ugly duckling flew further than a MED ever did for me; just like when you are 18 and that overweight girl with too much makeup and low self esteem does everything to please, whilst the most beautiful girl in class wants a poem... A shooti...

I wouldn't recommend that the way it looks now - pretty beat up already from lawn casting :pirate: here it is btw: https://s20.postimg.org/a19vzcp6l/20180312_152001.jpg Wrote them yesterday and told them I don't fancy putting the fucked up one in a box and send it back, too much hassle... They told ...
