Re: Loops on SA lines

Old one and in Finnish: https://www.perhokalastajat.net/index.php?page=lenkit-ja-liitokset-perhosiiman-ytimen-avulla Difference to Lasse's method is that I pulled the tag end fully inside. It stays there with chinese fingerlock. I used Aquasure to seal the hole in the coating and also compensate the...

Re: Boat captain requirements in Spain vs ICC?

Actually captain can be a bad thing. If they don’t know how to approach for the fly presentation or don’t want to learn, they can be a hindrance and just extra cost. Yeah, in Basque Country or Cantabria I haven’t found suitable boats really. On Med side most are also with Bimini top which is somethi...

Re: Boat captain requirements in Spain vs ICC?

For me it is not so much about the size, it is about the distance from the coast. I wouldn’t even want anything as big as 8m boat, but 5 miles would be a no-no. 12 miles I might be able to just barely cope with. It is all about the conditions and capability of the boat (usually surpasses the guts of...

Boat captain requirements in Spain vs ICC?

Does anybody know how the ICC relates to Spanish requirements for boat driving license levels?

Or where to ask? Would be fun to be able to go fishing on family trip also when we don’t hire a captain.

Just weighed four rods I have built. Two are NFC Iconoglass #10 8'6" and two NFC Iconoglass #12 8'6" blank shortened from the butt by 2" so real length about 8'4". Of the glass rods, the #10s are the top and second from the bottom. #12 are the second glass from the top and the mo...

Re: Understanding trout carbon rods

And the biggest variation in the butt section is due to other things than the blank mostly.

Re: Understanding trout carbon rods

Lasse, bring accurate scale (don’t bother with the butt section thou) and a (a good digital) caliper.

Even then you need to be careful with the weight analysis depending on how many, what size and type of guides they have used.
