Spanish experiment

Hi Lasse,

Just because the weight on the fixed line had the positional lead before the bricks hit the floor doesn't necessarily mean it was the one travelling the fastest at the time. Very hard to determine without some sort of accurate velocity measurement.

Cheers, James.

Spanish experiment

Aitor,

Are you going to supply the figures that are needed to model your experiment, masses, spring constant, drop height etc?

Cheers, James

Aitor - what's the launch date for your experiment? I know a nice quiet spot near Neptune for it. You are doing it in space aren't you.... :D

I've just tried PM'ing - it looks like it's sat in my Outbox, how do I get it to send?

Thanks, James.

AFFTA Line classification floating vs. sinking lines

Mike - what weight is the production GT125 #5?

Cheers, James

Bernd is a member of the Barrio Pro Team and many of the lines that he has and uses are in fact prototypes, these are not always the same weight or profile as the final retail product ;)

Best wishes
Mike

AFFTA Line classification floating vs. sinking lines

Hi Bernd,

So you would go for ever more bendy rods as you went up in line density?

I think for most, they wouldn't have less bend - they'd have more linespeed :) .

Cheers, James.

BIG FIVE to choose YOUR fly rod

Is it 'nano' enough?
Is it reassuringly expensive?
Is it a nice colour?
How insistent are the sales reps that it's better than the previous one?
Is the font size on the tube large enough? :D  :p

BFCC dates 2013

Steve - about 5 miles. It's a bigger field so we should be able to do the shooting-head events also.

Marc - it will be great to have an international element to the day/comps, which one are you thinking about getting to? :) .

The next wonder material, give it 10 years so they can get the manufacturing costs right down, then you'll see it utilised for it's structural properties.
