Use much longer at least 50ft nylon line (leader) which you tie about 50ft ahead and you can cast real line loops.

Paul So, would a harder material create more mass, therefore, we should use a smaller diameter? BTW, I'm not a fan of flurocarbon. Cheers Lou Solid Nylon line density is somewhere 1.05...1.10. Fluorocarbon has higher density. I have read densities 1.7 to 1.9 but fluorocarbon line is a polymer which...

To me it looks like you should practice your rod hand. Do more basic casting keeping the line under rod hand index finger without hauling and do high stops to achieve controlled line loops using different lengths of line and then begin Drifting both ways front and back.

I don't know that line. I think a scale is essential for fly fishermen to know what we cast. Mail ordered from asia for about ten dollars have been accurate and accuracy is possible to test using coins which weights can be found from internet.

There are few reasons for "anchor blowing" when "Skagit" casting: Casting fault Creep which can be a result of CM/CL Constant Move/Constant Load principle is quite common. Another reason is when anchor comes more or less sideways against following casting direction. Perry Poke is...

Hi All, I don't understand the preferences for soft/slow rods for tournament accuracy casting? Thanks in advance, John John, I think it is the combination of blank softness and blank weight. When rod bends more under its own mass the role of line weight out of rod to rod bend is less and competitor...

This Slow Motion video of Sakkes Single Spey cast is the best I have seen and very inspirational. You should find it in normal speed on small windows right as well.
