Re: The overhang question

Sounds good, thx. Work all day today but will try to get out tomorrow and maybe cast for a little bit and film, but it all depends on the weather.

It's Cortland 444 "SL" and I also have Cortland modern trout which I haven't casted yet, really all I can afford.

Re: The Grip

Interesting enough, as a meat cutter by trade I've switched to a "v grip" while holding the knife in the last few years as it feels stronger. Because of my profession I deal with a tired wrist alot so I have to be careful. I personally think how you grip the rod can make a dramatic differe...

Re: The Grip

I seem to throw less tails with my thumb flat on the cork, when I try a variation like the v grip I start to run into problems, the reason for this I'm not entirely certain, it feels like a weaker hold for me. With he thumb flat on the cork I guess I mean the classic hold everyone is initially taught.

Re: Pull-back

In the description you mention you use it considerably in distance, but in the video you say it's not about distance just setting a tight loop, anyways I'm going to have to try this for my roll casts.

Re: Leader design and wind knots

Where in the stroke should I be focusing on improving if tails are happening near end of the cast?
