When I have the room for it, I almost always slip some shooting line in the final BC. Not a great deal, but maybe, as Lasse said, a length that somewhat matches what can be handled without the loop crumbling.

I actually have a new plan. One that either requires help from someone with knowledge and experience or learning a few, new skills. I'll try taking a pair of Renomed sciccors, cut a little off one handle and then try brazing it back together.
Any advice would be appreciated :-).
