Re: ICSF WC Flycasting Sweden 2024
Well good. I wish them the best and I hope things can really move forward, Nils. I’m just concerned about these WCs because unfortunately I know a lot of people who aren’t going. They don’t have the high cost of airfares and the $400 ICSF individual membership fee to contend with that some of us hav...

Re: How to cast a pointed loop?
Not necessarily. As long as there is sufficient line in the direction of the target and enough speed in the line then RSP can be below the line path. morph.jpeg Not sure if this will show it. But we certainly have seen “stopless” casts producing very pointed loops and RSP is well below fly leg path ...

Re: Mental Practice
Cheers, interesting stuff. Have you tried asking students to do it? Again in the article it partly supports the idea of skills acquisition and not only of refinement. I can imagine it might surprise a few students, although mine already think I’m weird. “Close your eyes, count to 10, breathe deeply,...

Re: ICSF WC Flycasting Sweden 2024
I’ll try to get something organised here, John. There is funding for events and I’ve been asked by the TV producers to come up with an event plan to get the funding! I have been thinking about a SE Asia competition with an open invite. Probably held either on the lake here or else in Langkawi. Just ...

Re: ICSF WC Flycasting Sweden 2024
Maybe but 400 Euros is very expensive for an individual such as myself, on top of an already high price for the event. The new tiered affiliation fee is another first

Re: ICSF WC Flycasting Sweden 2024
Let me ask two questions then. Is there an active committee on the ICSF marketing the sport, producing press releases and keeping it in the public eye, that is in constant contact with sports programmers and magazines/newspapers? And then is there a committee dedicated to finding event sponsorship? ...

Re: FFi MCI test: comments and suggestions
I don’t worry too much about the definitions when they mean more or less the same thing. When they mean something different, such as Drag, that’s when problems arise. I would suggest that the examiners get externally and independently assessed. This was a good idea in the AAPGAI assessments. Unfortu...

Re: How to cast a pointed loop?
Further: at a risk of looking really dumb, is the distance between the two angles and the setting of the lower angle , the counterflex? Pom Yes max counterflex is responsible for the bottom dip on the Sexyloops logo. The very front point of the logo translates back to when the line started to slow,...

Re: ICSF WC Flycasting Sweden 2024
If casters can’t afford to go or find it too expensive then I don’t think that’s them being unreasonable. The entry for me is 880 Euros, since I’d have to pay the ICSF membership fees as well. For sponsored teams who are actually paid expenses and have everything else covered then it’s not a problem...

Man that beginners page is terrible. No wonder AI gives all the wrong answers. I’ll fix that page with a “site bite” soon, bringing it up to date.
