Maybe it explained somewhere, so sorry if I missed it.
Can someone tell me why the WC now falls under the ICSF?
There seems to be no mention of the WC on there website and no results.

The cost has been driven up because of the membership. What to they bring to the table?

Cheers, Bart

I’m not sure Bart, I think originally it was to give the championships more credibility. I hope that the costs are not inflated too much. It will be interesting to see how the respective championships work together. I’m particularly interested in Sweden if it happens, because then the championships will occur simultaneously and that could be really good for both sports. Maybe we will finding ourselves inspired to compete in both. However what I don’t know is if we need to do all the events or can pick and choose as we can with fly tackle. Certainly as potential for learning and sharing information it cannot be better and I look forward to meeting the casters who compete in the other ICSF games. It will be interesting to see if they are as mad as we are.

Paul - it is possible to pick and choose rather than compete in all 9 - I certinaly have done in the past.

ICSF - it was proposed by the Norweigan casters a few years ago, proposed, voted on and accepted - Thorgier can shed better light on this.

Hi Andy,

For the first champships it was ICSF approved, then the ICSF dropped the games for a few competitions but we carried on anyway. I’m not sure what the thinking is now.

Be that as it may, if a combined worlds happens in Sweden that will be fantastic and I look forward to that possibility very much.

I find it remarkable that Dmitri and Steve can be at the top of both games. That’s a huge amount of skill and dedication. It’s even more remarkable because they have full time jobs, families and all that kind of good stuff. I go fishing and I barely have enough time to train for a couple of events!

It will be fun just to watch them actually

Cheers, Paul

Hi Bart,

One of our club members manages the ICSF page, I was wondering and I've asked him today - maybe he got no data.
I think if he gets a PDF of the invitation and the final scores it shouldn't be a problem to put that on the page.

He said next week is a ICSF meeting.

This basically depends on the (casting sport-)politics of your country. In Germany minimum is heptalon (first 7 disciplines) for the qualifications. A disadvantage for me, training for all events is very time-consuming - very difficult to get ever to the WC. E.g. you need to average in all accuracy events between 95-100 points to be at the top.
If I now also include fly casting I have to train for 11 events :)

Hi Torsten

Results for the first 4 wc can be found here:
https://m.wcflycasting.com/WC-2014.html

Lee should have a PDF of this years Results, he might post it here.

Cheers

Hi Lasse,

thanks, this should help. I've spoken today with the ICSF president (Kurt Klamet) he asked me to send the results first to him.

I need some help with the exact date/location (and the PDF for 2018):

World Championship in Fly Casting 2010
Fagernes, Norway, 13.-15.08.2010
https://m.wcflycasting.com/upload/results_wc2010.pdf

World Championship in Fly Casting 2012
Fagernes, Norway, 24.-25.08.2012
https://m.wcflycasting.com/upload/results_wcfc_2012.pdf

World Championship in Fly Casting 2014
Location? Date?
https://m.wcflycasting.com/upload/VM%20 ... 202014.pdf

World Championship in Fly Casting 2016
Location? Date?
https://m.wcflycasting.com/upload/Compl ... 202016.pdf

World Championship in Fly Casting 2018
Location? Date? PDF File?

I'd forward then the dataset.

Thanks,
Torsten
