So long as I write "#5" on the box it came out of we're good right? :D
Just say you did :D

And make sure Paul doesn't cast it, he apperantly can feel halfweights :p

The rules clearly state AAFTA conforming! If you can’t cast 100ft left handed then you have a month to learn :)

I’m up to 70’ with my left hand side, but 100’ and into the ring!!! Only you could come up with this one Paul. But i’ll give it a go. I’m actually teaching myself to cast left handed over all distances and the short accurate shots are as hard as the 70’, the over powered curve casts in particular. Here comes another tennis elbow!!!

Anyone done this yet? Both Martyn and Tim are visiting this month and I’ll have them as judges. I’ll take a ring down this week and have a practise session! I’m surprised you’re finding it difficult

Cheers, Paul :)

I had a practice session this evening. Before working on things, I was getting 85' - 90' (measured) but it was not pretty. I spent the next 90 minutes tweaking the back cast. I think another session like that and I'll be very happy with the back cast. I didn't measure again at the end of the session, but the estimated 75' - 80' casts were MUCH better by then.

I'm confident I'll make the distance 100% of the time by the end of the month, but I think the accuracy might not be good enough for 3/5 times. I'll see.

I spent the next hour after that working on the Snakehead Shot. On grass, with a 6wt Thunderbolt, no popper - just fluff, but 18m casts were pretty easy. Next stop: poppers on water with a 10wt. :D

Cheers,
Graeme

Arbitrary Anglers Flying Trick Archery?

Well past 100 in shootout with maestro Hedman, almost always loose though...

And it's 25 days left, tick tock.. Will probably give it a go this weekend if the fishing is crap ;)

Has everyone done this yet? Martyn White (has written a few FPs) is joining me next week and I'll have him film my successful attempt. [Always talk with confidence! :p ]

I'm sure that you can all do it by the way, I just think that you are being a bit lazy!

Cheers, Paul

Two questions...

Is a 5 wt GT125 a "conforming" line?

And, I assume it is OK to use a rod rated over 5?

BTW... I'm not being lazy at all, but I am having a hard time claiming any sort of accuracy at that distance.
With appreciation and apologies to Ray Charles…

Yes I believe the 125 conforms. It might be pushing the boundary! Rod is open; I’ll throw the ht6.
