Newbee from Shanghai, China
hihi everyone - this is Davy Sun from Shanghai China.
Nice to e-meet you here. I really like the learning environment here in the board which had made me learnt a lot. It is my pleasure to join the board so that I could have a closer discussion with your masters.
I am learning single handed spey and doing some exercise base on MCI exam in my spare time when can’t go out fishing. In last couple of weeks, I had finished translation of Dr Lee’s book – loop dynamics into Chinese – with his permitting of course. I really enjoy the job although I am not a good translator, because I could learn a lot of knowledge and thinking during the translating work. My next step is to try to make a Chinese version of casting instruction exercise material since there is almost no correct fly fishing guidance material in Chinese so that it is extremely hard for people can’t read English to learning casting, tying and fishing correctly.
Well, so happy to join you guys

Re: Newbee from Shanghai, China
Hi Davy Sun,
And a very big welcome to the Board from me!!! When I was in Harbin it was suggested that I dub the Sexyloops videos into Mandarin. I think it’s a great idea but I would want my voice to be like a Chinese Emperor.
It’s great to see fly fishing taking off in China. When do you plan to take your MCI? You will get lots of help here.
I hope the virus restrictions are not affecting your life too much.
Cheers, Paul

hi Mr Emperor
things are going better and better here in China and i believe everything would be recovery by May.
actually i had watched all of your video which are very good material for learning. it will be a great idea to add Mandarin subtitle on the video. i think it will benefit lots of people.
CI is just a start, the most important thing i think is keep learning. While for MCI test, let it be, the test itselft is not important.
i am happy to here with you guys.
regards
Davy

Hi Davy,
I have a friend who used to live in Shanghai, Dirk Traeger, he’s been over here a few times and caught one or two fish
What is the fishing like around Shanghai? Harbin was fun, and the fish were... pretty
Cheers, Paul
