Thanks mate! I found new sheep girl rings, Vision Stealth that are matte so they won't give reflections. This is the 20 kg ring, there is also a 12 kg ring that I will use for trout.

That’s bloody excelllent. How long do you think it will take to tie one now you know the process? And how durable are they? Is the body still flexible? I wonder how it casts with the wings? I would say that they are between 7 and 10cm long (head to tail). Can you give me a tying step by step pls?

Cheers! Paul

Thanks Paul! That's flattering.

I can do it tonight and take pictures and time. I am bloody slow at tying anyway but I will try to speed it up. The next one I will give to you when I come, maybe you can make me a Hird Leader to trade? I bought some black braid for tippet material, 0.12mm/6.8kg. Is that a good good one for Gourami?

The body is somewhat flexible and the wings are stiff about 5-10 mm outside the body and the rest is soft and bends backwards when I blow on it. I may do the wings even thinner still. About durability, I don't have a clue, it's foam and lots of superglue. I think you are more experienced in what happens with that in the fishes mouth. I need to cast it over water to see how it behaves in the air.

I don’t know Dragon Piffen. As amazing as they look I think a Hird Leader might be worth two Piffen Dragonflies ;)

Cheers, Paul

I’ll make sure we have plenty. The first two have pretty much dried already! I’ll cast my first attempt tomorrow. I expect to have the houseboat by the time you are here which will mean you can have a go at building some when you are here. We can tie some Piffen Dragons too
