I agree with traveling, you need to take tying kit and materials with you.
Most of the times I travel, I take lots of flies, while I am there always found out I need something different flies than the ones worked there last time.
I take the materials required for that place, offcourse my vice and kit as well.
My traveling vice is this. [Pic.]
Coast me $15 aus. with a little bit of spot welding.
It holds small hooks so tight you can not move them on the vice grip.
Even at home I use this for hooks size 10 and below, you can use them even 4/0 hooks and above.
