Nice fish John! I see them in the shallows in Tassie and sometimes Montana too. I bet they're close in during the night in Ireland as they were at Ardliegh. But I agree, it's rare to find big trout in the shallows like they are in NZ especially during the day. I sometimes wonder if that's because their camouflage doesn't work there being an introduced species.
