FWIW I do think the prices are sky high. I really wanted to keep our 100/110’ lines under 60 quid which was around the top end of what I would like to pay. The problems in the UK of the past few years has led to the exchange rate putting them up to ~£65.

When I was working for Guide Fly Fishing 20 something years ago the UK shop margins on US fly lines was only around 1.4 With Guide we were offering margins of around 1.8 - 1.4 is very low I have to say. VAT then was only 15% but still it didn’t leave much.

Actually something like 60-70€ is a already a budget line :) at the top I've seen for example the SA AMPLITUTDE MPX for 139€ in a popular german online fly fishing store.

Ah right. Sorry I had missed the last price increase :D I did a search and in the US they are 130USD which is still 117 euros and smack on 100GBP. Ouch! I thought they were still £70-80 per line.

I’d hate to buy the wrong line at those prices!

It certainly makes buying multiple lines to try out an expensive proposition

Before the Lumiline price goes up, please let me know!

As curious and entertaining as it is, believe it or not, it is an exceptional fishing line for a very particular application... except it sinks.

So, going way back to an old chemistry lab procedure, I am going to treat it to float... maybe. It might also destroy the line.

Either way I probably want a few more!
