Ok well I’m heading up a river on Saturday for a few days, chasing Mahseer. I’ll have company so it will be possible to video this. Should be able to edit and post the results sometime next week.

Cheers, Paul

I’ll tell you what I expect. When tuning the HT4/7 outfit the loops on the HT7 should be open. When tuning to the HT7/4 outfit the line will hit the rod on the HT4.

That’s what I expect to happen! Do you agree or disagree with this?

Cheers, Paul
Just thought about this, don't think you'll get open loops in the first case, more likely slack..

But let's see 😉
Might just do it myself too...

Cheers
Lasse

So what should I be doing? Throwing the same line on both? I have two MED7s.

Hi Lasse, I'm wondering why both rods show such a similar deflection during the "loading" phase - looks like they have different lengths?
In general I think you need to make sure that the boundary conditions match to get consistent and plausible outcomes. Maybe with same length rods, one in each hand, with a rigid connection between them?

Superstiff broomstick and light line and James have shown it falls apart, but that is also so far from practical fishing that it becomes a moot point. Bellcurve applies, and the top is pretty flat.

I might have cast it, not sure 🙂

Cheers
Lasse
