Wading boots by shoe companies

Let me get a review up before encouraging me to experiment with my artistic talents please!

Tried 12UK 47EUR Meindl boots and holy cow they were tight. I think 48,5 in that narrow shape would be the target. And then a family of mice would have enough space to live between toes and the boot front.

Of course width is the problem with boots not designed for waders since neoprene socks affect foot circumference more than length. For example 5mm of wool sock + wader neoprene sock make the length need 10mm bigger. But the circumference is added by about 15mm.

If you want to get rid of the colors, how about Dylon?

The colour is kind of funky. I tried Dylon before on some WJ and Fishpond stuff. Marker pens worked better in the end. These boots are made for neoprene booties. Tomorrow I’ll take a photo of both insoles. I think there is slightly more space than the Meindls. But not much. Have you considered joining the police?

That's good to know when considering alternatives. If you can find out the internal circumference of the toe of a boot and compare it to the circumference of your foot + 15mm, that could be super helpful. Fortunately for me, I have low volume feet and have to add an extra pair of insoles to any boots I buy, but I saved the insoles from some old Loud Wail (Cloud Veil) boots I mistakenly bought. Worst boots ever, BTW.

I'm wondering how the sole rubber on the Canyon Guide would hold up on rockier terrain. Think it'd be too soft to last long?

Measured my foot with normal sock on and then added a wool sock and put the wader on. About 14mm change in length. But my gosh, how much this changes!

UK police are famous for their big feet. Not the same in Finland then?

Insoles are same length. Bestard are slightly wider at the ball of the feet. I can’t wear neoprene booties inside the Meindl’s and find them too tight (I have tried before). No problems with the Bestard so there is a significant difference there.

As far as durability goes we shall have to see however they are meant for scrambling over rocks.

Funny for short scrambles through the jungle I would never bother putting on the Meindls. However the speed at which the Bestards go on and off means that I wear these now in preference to the Tevas I would normally slip on. This is a huge plus for me. And means for example I’m far less concerned about scorpions. (Although I always check them first before putting them on!).

Police here are not know for being big footed. The only bigfoot I knew is Sasquatch and we didn't see it when we visited Chehalis area.

I did an overlay by mirroring and rotating the Meidl insole on the Bestard (red is the outline of Bestard). There is quite a difference.
