Was there a green 105’ MED, Lasse?

If the head was longer we could carry more without losing loop stability. Optimal carry for shooting for me is around 90’, but I can carry 95’. It’s also possible that if the head was 10’ longer that would be better still because one of the limitations on carry is the head length. I don’t know what the optimal amount for me would be but it’s certainly longer than what it currently is.

However that’s just for casting not comp. I wouldn’t like to see the line changed for comp because it’s become a “standard” of sorts. But wouldn’t it be awesome to carry 100’ instead of 90? I’d have a lot of fun with that :)

Cheers, Paul

Aaaaaaaaaaargh :D

A couple of my friends could carry the green XXD to the backing knot, not sure headlength matters so much, then again the XXD had thicker runningline than the MED, one friend carried the green MED to the knot too though... sealevel as DK is quite flat :p

And yeah, awesome, reminds me, you owe me 7 feet of lumiline ;)

Cheers

Yep I’ve carried 105’ of XXD green, but that was in Calgary at 1000m, however I don’t think that’s the way to chuck it.

I’ll send you 7’ of lumiline. :)

Cheers, Paul

Send me 100' and we'll split the difference 😉

And I agree, it has to be cast as any shootinghead, right amount of overhang and it flies..

Have you checked the distances in the virtuel comp? I think you should enter so I'm not last 😊

Oh no I’d forgotten about that! I’m not sure if it’s legal but I’ll take my rod to Gerik tomorrow.

Thanks for the reminder! :)
