Sexyloops Gathering 2020

Hi folks,

I’m thinking we could have a Sexyloops gathering. Shootouts, instruction, videos, fly tying, debauchery, fly fishing. Like old times only better.

Sexyloops will be 22 on 22nd September 2020. That’s s lot of twos. We could book ourselves into the Pliva in Bosnia which will give us some very good fishing and a relatively cost effective event.

The date is flexible but needs to be after and reasonably close to the World Championships in Sweden.

The first thing to do is to make sure that the dates don’t clash with anything. I think the fishing here is some of the best in Europe and it’s certainly worth tagging on fishing days. I’d be personally tempted to fish five days before and five after.

The venue is superb for us. Undoubtedly the best accommodation of any SL gathering!

Yes absolutely!! Hey I might be down in KL this weekend and I'll film my attempt then! I have an idea for a new challenge but need to check that it's not impossible first.

I’m thinking we try some new events. Single handed Spey, Presentation Casts, Freestyle and Lumi-line fighting

I have two options here. One would be a meet possibly in Sweden. Late August. In a fishing location with Stefan. Another option would be say mid September in Bosnia. Either would work for me. I think putting them within a week of the WCs would be a good idea. It would be nice to have decent sized meet, with lots of casting and fishing presentations, a shootout, some evening talks and flies and of course some good fishing before or after the event or both. And both locations lend themselves very well to this.

I haven’t fished or even visited either Sweden or Bosnia, so would be very happy with either... I guess Bosnia would be slightly cheaper? (Assuming you don’t live there or close by )
If the dates work and my better half hasn’t already committed us elsewhere I’ll definitely try and make it, be great fun to meet up with everyone.

Yep Bosnia will certainly be cheaper. It’s about 12 euros per night for accommodation. 20 for food and beer. Fishing is around 40 euros/day. We might be able to get some sort of deal. Sweden on the other hand is about 12 Euros per pint The fishing in both is first class. Arguably some of the best in Europe.

Zagreb might be the closest airport. I’ll make some enquiries.
