Posting on the Board - how to...

Hi Guys,
I've noticed a few of us having difficulties posting images, videos, attachments etc on the Board.
Here is a quick summary of posting features. Firstly simply using the quick reply box at the bottom of the thread doesn't easily give you all the features. So you need to click on the button that says 'Full Editor and preview'.
Now you have all the features you need. It is actually possible on this new Board to simply drag and drop /copy and paste an image into the posting box and it will automatically upload it for you. However please please resize this first. The simplest way of resizing an image is to reduce its width/height. Width of 800px or even 1000px should be plenty large enough for just about any photo. There is lots of software available for this, if you need some help in doing this then just ask.
If you look at the available options from left to right, you have:
Bold, Italics, Underline, Quote, Code, Lists, Ordered Lists (maybe I should get rid of no.4? ), Item List, Insert Image, Insert Link, Insert Flash, Font Colour, Font size, and Media Embed. (I think Flash is disabled)
The Insert Image is a URL from elsewhere on the Net. Copy and past the browser link into code that appears. eg...
The Code button allows you to post code like I have just done!
The Media Embed box allows you to post Vimeo, YouTube and other video links. It supports very many different sites. Just post the full URL inside this media code. It's a one media box covers all, and much better than in the past where we had both YouTube and Vimeo tags and no one could work out how to use them
To attach PDF files etc look below the posting box and you see Options/Attachments (and possibly Poll Creation) depending on your member group. Go to attachments and click 'add files'. Make sure that the software has finished fully uploading the file before posting your message otherwise it won't appear!
Finally, if you want to be notified of a reply by email, you can set this up using the Options tab. 'Notify me when a reply is posted'.
Any questions do ask!
Cheers, Paul
