My teaching experience is short but I agree - superb exercise. I have been talking one step further and have introduced hauls into the equation. It has worked very well, and students seem to understand the haul better since they see its effects clearly I guess.

For me it was always the fail safe method of teaching the double haul (and last but-not-least-by-any-means, send them away with it). It's not my first 1-1 choice usuallly
because it's slower to get results.
But the ignition bulb for me was that the borderline students who might be able to learn the Doube haul in their first lesson (the Holy Grail of single handed casting instruction of course) have a better chance if they learn the Triangle Method first.
I've experimented with it of course.
