It’s stopless and happens in the same way that the backcast opens. The thumb simply pushes over.

Here is a video of Fredrik shifting grips. It’s sort of a key grip on the backcast and thumb on top going forward.



I still use this sometimes when I struggle with my forward cast tracking.

Thanks... that clears things up quite a bit!

I need to work on that cradle grip... and get to it while the back cast is unrolling. That timing is where I have been going wrong.

I think I have been maintaining my hand during the back cast and rotating during the forward translation, instead of the cradle before translation. That results in sort of a torque twist and I have no fingers to close. I think it is because I use curve casts so often.

Something to practice tomorrow...
