Thanks mate, the other goes where not as good, and it was a year ago
I'll get going at the weekend, then you should have a good enough headstart
Incidently, Magnus Herman, his lefthanded 170 is on par with his right handed, amazing to watch!
And Simon Gawesworth, fishing with him on the danish coast in an awkward wind from the wrong side, and he just switched hands and fished on, and it looked as good as ever...
Bastards
Cheers
Lasse

Flycasting, so simple that instructors need to make it complicated since 1685
Got a Q++ at casting school, wearing shorts

Re: Advanced Fly Casting Challenge no2
Hi Paul
Is it 90 feet from the fly to the line hand, and is 10 false casts 10 back and 10 forward strokes rather than just 10 strokes?
Cheers,
Dirk

Hi Dirk, No it’s 90’ of flyline to the hand, not including leader, or whatever your max is. (My max is considerably less still ) And it’s enough back and forward casts so it’s under control. Can call it 30 seconds of false casting. Just so that it’s not shot to get there and lost after a couple of casts!

Re: Advanced Fly Casting Challenge no2
Then I'll have to tap out already, Paul.
Best I could get was 6 strokes, 92 ft carry but including a 14 ft leader. That line is the best candidate that I have for the task - a 88 ft WF #4 floater with a 35ft head. It has a stoutish running line, which helps. But not enough, I fear.
Cheers,
Dirk

Re: Advanced Fly Casting Challenge no2
I think that’s excellent casting Dirk! I guess the point of this is that we have a few weeks (a month initially) to train. I’m not sure I’ll get there but I am trying!
Yes I think a DT or a MED will certainly help. A short head WF4 is not the best line for a long carry!!!
Cheers, Paul

Re: Advanced Fly Casting Challenge no2
Need to film where we are mate!! Ashly is aboard this week so I’ll get her to film one night. I’ll mark up the line in 10’ intervals. I also have to do this PUAlD, different grips and flip-flop video. I might do them all at once.
Cheers, Paul
