ICE
Just a weird thing I discovered yesterday. I was out practicing on a bit of the sea that had frozen, proper see through ice with no snow cover. I noticed that if I aimed my loop downward with the loop hitting the ice about 20 ft in front of me, it continued to unroll perfectly on the surface of the ice, but slower and was very beautiful to watch. This amused me for the best part of an hour.

Re: ICE
Hi Barry
Was the continuing to unroll bit with the fly leg in the air or the loop sideways on the ice?

Like this?

Re: ICE
I found a similar way to amuse myself one day when I was demonstrating the effect of tension on a cast. I found I was able to make a small complete oval loop (i.e. front and back as a "closed oval") run along the ground like a scared rabbit running from a fox, complete with acceleration away from me.
Small things amusing small minds. (At least, in my case .... )

The loop was sideways on the ice and rolled out straight!Dirk le Roux wrote: ↑Fri Mar 11, 2022 5:40 am Hi Barry

Re: ICE
It does so indoors on a slippery gym floor, not so much on rough asphalt

Re: ICE
Bill Gammel uses a long black plastic sheeting for similar effect when teaching. Guess there is no ice in Texas!barrysthlm wrote: ↑Sat Mar 12, 2022 11:37 amThe loop was sideways on the ice and rolled out straight!Dirk le Roux wrote: ↑Fri Mar 11, 2022 5:40 am Hi Barry
