This photo is of the very end of one of my distance backcasts - sorry about the quality - it's zoomed in a long way.
What's causing the fly leg to go up like that - I assume it's something to do with the dangling end? How would I get it straighter?

Distance casting loop shape
Hi James
Is it from a clip? and is it possible to see more of the line than just the loop front
Cheers

Flycasting, so simple that instructors need to make it complicated since 1685

Does it happen just like this in every cast?
Distance casting loop shape
Hi Chase,
No it doesn't. Aitor has noted on another site that it's probably due to a trajectory effect i.e. letting the forward cast drop too much. This can be seen in his 'broomstick' video - here the loop opens up on the forward cast due to a 'low' back cast. The shape on the video and in the photo seem very similar.
Cheers, James.
