Paul said he would resurrect it a couple of months ago, so expect it to be up and running by 2030ish 😉

I’ve had a new database program made, I just have to extract the data from the old one and populate the new one. Apparently I have to do this manually so that’s probably why I haven’t done it yet :D I’ll have a look at it this evening!

Cheers, Paul

While we're waiting <nudge> :-) I found the RodCents database.

https://rodcents.org/ccs-database

It has about 470 entries with gives me something to work on (I'm interested in how closely ERN and rod wights are related in practice, how much the vary by brand and how much individual rods vary.)

The most entries for a particular rod was, perhaps not surprisingly, the Sage TCR #5. But there was quite a variance. I suspect a competition caster would be very interested in that if it was a real stiffness difference.

6.75
7.10
7.28
7.40
7.60
Average=7.23

What do we think about this? Is it measurement error or build variance or maybe both?

Build variance mostly, some might be measurment errors, but having measured a bunch of them, and having friends who have done so too, those numbers are sound. We have it down to what seriel numbers one should look for if one is looking for a particular stiffnes 😊
Searching the old board should bring up alot of reading.

Thanks Lasse

It's a shame all these databases are disappearing off the web

It sure is, we had one in Denmark where I had spend alot of time getting people to report accurate figures, and it disappered last year too. Got some screen shots of the tables at least...

Its not completly true that nothing disappears on the net 🤣🤣

Though sometimes bits can be found again..

Could I ask a question of you guys that have cast a million rods? Without looking at the ERN, which feels the stiffer rod, the Sage XP or the ONE?
