Hi All,

Does anyone have any experience with this line? I think it's a #9, right?

What's it meant for / good for?

Thanks,

Bass

Hi

I just looked, but can’t find this line on Rio’s website?

What exactly is this line called, besides “iline”?

The iLine was a forerunner of the Single Handed Spey. I think Lee Cummings had a hand in designing it - the "i" stood for Instructor. So a rear-weighted short-headed line. From memory the 15.5g would be around a 6wt. Great for light-line/single-handed Speys.

In our neck of the woods, its called the rio Dart. Its not on the website, as its local distributor invention.

Your friendly neighbourhood flyslinger

Flycasting, so simple that instructors need to make it complicated since 1685

Got a Q++ at casting school, wearing shorts ;)

Many thanks.

Lee also got in touch with me, and he wrote...

"The iline you have (239grains / 15.5 grammes) is probably best suited for a good 8# although I would use it on anything from 7-10 dependant on application."

I already have the iLine for a #5 - not sure of its actual size designation - just superb for SH roll casting, and teaching...on #4 ;-)

Best,

B
