polyurethane line cleaning

Hi everyone, I have some barstool lines that I want to clean, I know PVC has special considerations since it has plasticisers, but PU has not (at least barstool claims that, I know that there exists plasticisers for polyurethane), anyway do you have any different method for this kind of lines or just the usual way? ( water+mild soap) not trying to get the reinvention of the wheel or anything but I'm always up for more efficient ways to do things

Paul (understandably) has a long-standing grudge against barstool from many years ago. The use of fire to clean their lines makes me laugh.

I think just the usual way (hand soap and luke warm water), Vicente, and if you can get hold of silicone oil 10cSt then I would treat it with this.

I was send some polyurethane lines from a different manufacturer some years ago to try here in the jungle, but they didn’t shoot. Even with the silicone application. The fishing here is all about quick shots so I couldn’t use them in the end.

I use a product called "303 protectant". It is common in most marine stores and one bottle will last a lifetime if all you do is use it on flylines.

(It is also very good on canoe hulls, especially if they are left outside in the sun. It is billed as a sunscreen for boats.)

It is PU based, not silicone. It works great on those lines, and I use it on PVC lines too.

I find the micro channel "texturing" of those lines to work extremely well here in the South Florida saltwater environment.
