Hello from North Wales

Post by AlanWxm »

Hi all. I've been fly fishing for about 3 years, mainly for trout and grayling here in North Wales on both stillwaters a rivers. I've also had fly fishing holidays in Rhodes (South Africa), Bavaria and Scotland.

In these 3 years my casting has improved from apalling to mediocre. I'm very much hoping that this resource and you guys/gals can help me become at least halfway competent.

A quick question (I can't see where else to post it). Is it possible to play the movie clips (.shtml files ?) on Android/Chrome.? I get "plug-in not supported" messages.

Hi Alan,

Welcome to the Board! Nice part of the world!

The old movies on Sexyloops are available on YouTube.com/sexyloops
I haven’t embedded these into Sexyloops yet but have a new site upgrade coming soon and will eventually get around to it.

Otherwise they can be found on Sexyloops.com/movies/

There are some fun ones from back then. Probably the first ten years of Sexyloops. Underpant coffee and shootout are my favourites! Oh and everything else with Jim Curry too!

Cheers!
Paul

This is a great resource.
And I think you should look into https://www.thebfcc.co.uk/ also. The events will offer you great inspiration and help from really good casters.
But I think coaching one to one with Paul via Zoom is probably the best.

Hi Alan,

Myself and my partner (Tracy) are in North Wales, we're both keen casters and fishers (often on the River Dee around Corwen). Tracy helps run the British Fly Casting Club (BFCC) and we often practice in the local area as well as arranging gatherings of like minded casters. Does 'wxm' stand for Wrexham by any chance?

Anyway, enjoy Sexyloops.

Cheers, James

Thanks for the good wishes folks. I am indeed lucky enough to live in Wrexham in these golden days (apologies to those who don't follow football and will be wondering what I am going on about).

Re the movies on the site, I had no problem finding them, they just won't play on my tablet (Android/Chrome)
