So I'm guessing I'm not alone in thinking that whisky and fishing go together like a thumb in a bum. And I'm always on the lookout for good new whiskys (not so much thumbs in bums) to try out on a fishing adventure. So what are your faves?

So far I'd rate the following highly:
Glenmorangie Original
Glenlivet 12 or 18
Gelnfiddich 12 or 18
Dalwhinnie 15
Bushmills 10
Laphroaig Quarter Cask

Also I have a Japanese film night next week. Anyone know any good Nippon ones?

Best whisky I ever had was a Glenmorangie 25 years old (maybe even 30, can't actually remember), but it was totally awesome!

Otherwise I really like MacAllan (probably my favourite), and Ben Riach isn't bad either and I just got a bottle of Bushmills as well.

My fav is Talisker 10 y/o. It is at the top end of my budget though, so I normally only drink it when on a fishing trip :)

Yep the Japanese stuff that I've tasted has been excellent. Comes in nice bottles too :p I can't remember the brands but I'll ask Ti who is a connoisseur .
It's an exploration; bring a flyrod.

Benromach. It's a peated Speyside. Best of both worlds.

There are so many of them these days. And I still find myself drinking famous grouse!

I have some Aberfeldy 12 years that I enjoy drinking and I have to admit to really liking the 15 yr Drambuie.
