I have bikes too, but prefer running. I think it's because I have to concentrate in the bike for traffic or holes inthe road etc. I only need concentrate on running when going up/down hills or crossing rough terrain!

I used to run a lot, although I hated it. Bikes are cool, but the run workout simply feels better. I quit running in wintertime because of frequent injuries and switched to swimming during that time. Right now I'm going back to running... Really hate it. :p

Run 40km or more every week and love it. Contemplating how to combine with flyfishing :-)

I love it :p It feels like flying for me. I love the open spaces too. I'm really built as a middle distance runner, but I prefer the longer runs. I've never felt that I can open up until the 8 mile mark. Despite being too big for cross country I love nailing a long run. Here in the UK we're lucky to have a vast network of public footpaths that crisscross the entire country. Is never been keen on the rain or particularly the wind, but a day without running is like a day without fishing! I find a huge sense of freedom running that I don't find anywhere else.

I've always been lucky and never had too many injuries running. Here and there, yes of course. But I'm of the opinion that not being fit is more likely to cause injury than being fit!

Swimming on the other hand I really hate... All apart from open water. That's hard to beat! Going up and down a pool does my head in. It's like running on a treadmill or having sex with a plastic doll (I imagine!).
