Any ideas on how better to imitate these black tipped/veined wings? Sellotape and marker pen?
Thanks, Paul
Thanks, Paul

Yeah, the wing question. Many things plastic look like wings, but most of them rotate the fly in the air when casting and so fuck up the leader.Paul Arden wrote:Any ideas on how better to imitate these black tipped/veined wings? Sellotape and marker pen?

I`d try deer hair and a foam body.
Tie in a 4mm wide foam strip pointing forwards. Tie in opposite the hook point. Now tie in a bundle of calf or deer hair - also forward over the hook eye. Than fold the foam back so it splits the deer hair bundle in a set of wings. ... than you have to finish this somehow.
Otherwise I`d try the good old Royal Wulff.

Now this is funny - the forum is the fastest on the planet. A dude is fishing in Malaysia with felt 40 C getting an answer sort immediately from somebody sitting in ice and snow. I guess that is easy to explain, but why is there a number 4????

Maybe stripping the top of the CDC wings would be a good idea!
