Hi does anyone have s good pattern for adult damsels and dragonflies? I was thinking of a foam body - damsels are easy - but I haven't made a good looking dragonfly yet. I think that it could be a great search pattern for Gourami.

Thanks, Paul

I think something more along the lines of the termite might be faster. The problem I have is getting foam tubes that are long enough. In tackle shops they are only about 2 inches long.

I really like this termite fly. Is a bastardisation of something Irhamy tied. But much simpler. Today I painted it black after three refusals - they were on ants - and after painting I was successful.

I have foam blocks from packaging. I'll see if I can make tubes out of them. I have a fish tagging tool that might be perfect!

Cheers Paul

Your fly is similar to what I'm thinking TZ but spent wings!

Thanks, Paul

It's going to be difficult to match the wings with CDC :D

Pity you weren't here to film (or catch :) ) today's fish mate. Spotted him on the surface from 50m away. Been fishing new Gourami water too. Very exciting!

even simpler ... make the same type of body. Maybe use a monofilament core instead of the fibres I used - I needd them for the mayfly tails - and turn the whole body by 90degrees so the "flaps" are over and under.
