Following a conversation with Nick tonight, I was wondering if anyone has fixed too wide a casting arc by putting on a heavier line? :D

Cheers, Paul

This one?

Because that would be the quick fix most look for, that isn't healing the problem, but most won't face that problem anyway, so the quick fix and stay oblivious is taken as gospel...

Or the other one you wanted to shot down by doing your own casting before new years, which I have tried to get you to do for 8 years straight now 😉
I might just revisit as soon as we have sun in this land of Grey....

Hi all!

Sounds very strange. But more weight, more bend in the rod using a rotation only cast might give a flatter tip-path? It would be like the scandi trad, compensate lack of understanding with "adapted gear"?

Best regards
Stefan

Hi Stefan

Would that be like using the same line but a softer rod and still keeping the input the same 🙂

I think we have the scandi approach wrong because the thinking was exactly that more weight more vend, and at the root of scandi is the big spring thought, and we know that to be a myth... Scandi thought the while line mattered in bending the rod, not that a large part is actually just a passenger, and too light a line makes the passenger too heavy, skagit went overboard the other way, but also used fatter passengers 😉

And now is where that darn video comes up again 😂
