I'm looking forward to seeing your PULD cast Mike - I'm sure it will be a good one. Tracy and I might have another go this weekend if it stops raining for long enough. The river is blown out for the weekend, not that we're allowed to go at the moment.

Cheers, James

This is Tracy's first go - she didn't have any time to practice beforehand so she wants another go, hopefully to go over 100ft. She might get the prize for putting the line closest to the tape though :D

Great stuff! I shall put my entry in tomorrow. Mine will have to be over water.

My entry #2 for the PULD Challenge.
Distance: 40.2m
I uploaded it to youtube to be able to post it here and for better quality.
While I think it is a decent distance for a PULD, I was not satisfied at all. The grass prevented me from picking up more than 21m of line and I could not extend my backcast into the stiff wind. For sure a lot more is possible. I think someone (maybe me :D ) will be casting over 42m.

Hi All
Had a first go at the PULD chalange.
Wind wise-not too much as I wish to have.  Fly pick uo at 27 meters, and one thing that could improve that cast would be a clear pick up.Minium slack in the back loop, or fly catching on the grass with such a long pick up reduces efficency on the delivery.
Will try again with better conditions.
Rod- SL HT #10
Line- SA MED #5
Distance-39.7 metres =130 feet 2.992 inches

 cheers

Cheers, Graeme!

There have been some absolutely massive casts, what a wonderful idea, James.

All the best

Great cast mate! Couldn’t do mine today, I had elephants exactly where I had planned to cast.

Can you train them to mark for you?
The current top 3 is as follows:
Bart 134ft 5in
Mike 130ft 3in
Me 128ft.
I'm going to have another go tomorrow.
