Board upgrade coming.

It’s that time again when I have to poke around the big red button. Either Sunday or most probably Monday I’ll upgrade the Board software. I’ll do this from a concrete bunker in an undisclosed location. I’m really excited to be wearing my tin hat again.

Is it still coming or have we blinked and missed it?

How will it occur this coming Upgrade ? , will it be like the Mayan end of days, the millennial bug ,or the cranking up of the super Hard-on collider at CERN... ( eg..nothing changed)
Will there be a flying manifest dancing on the firmament and will there be a wind be so mighty, as to lay low the mountains of the Earth?.
Or will the screen just go blank for a few minutes while we snooze idly oblivious in a drunken fug?

I'm concerned and non plus all at once.

No it hasn’t happened yet but I need to do it. I need to update some server software which means I need to upgrade the board. The board will be closed for a few hours, when it happens. And then there will be annoying things like forgetting to reinstall “best answer” and various posting options. I’ll probably end up doing it next week now. Only because I need to go fishing first

I shall upgrade the Board over the next few days. So we will be offline for a little while. I’ll upgrade the archived Board first. (I knew there was an advantage to two Boards!).

It’s the start of new and exciting things to come!

I am doing this now. Thank goodness we have two Boards. It allows me to figure out the process without too much damage to this one.

I notice that Viking Lars managed to take down the rolling FP images on notebooks and laptops by trying to upload a Battle Axe on Saturday.

Impossible to do in the jungle. Starlink might be excellent but it’s just too unstable. Heading back to town. Hopefully I can upgrade the old board smoothly from there tonight and if that works as it should then I’ll upgrade this current Board from there tomorrow too.

I’ll know how long the Board will be down later. Not a few minutes that’s for sure. Still it needs doing.

The archived Board is up and running again. Now I have to remember how to change the logo and header background. Then I’ll do this active Board tomorrow night.

This one is next. I’ll shut it tomorrow at some point. The archived board upgrade took me 36 hrs but now I know how to do it we will probably be close for only about 4 hrs.
