That’s certainly as I understood if too, Lasse. And there are always going to be different opinions as to its purpose. The umbrella body is about conservation, education and protection. A non profit group? But many instructors see and use it as a professional qualification.

I was always surprised that it didn’t have a CI democratically elected CICP BOG. Less so now.

Cheers, Paul

I vote for Paul.

I’ve done my stint in instructor organisations, so too late :p But I’ll vote for you Walter  In fact I’ll re-certify just to do that.

I meant I vote you for everything. FYI you were only 5.5 million votes short of being prime minister of Canada.

et al. who wanted better instructors.

More history I wasn’t aware of, thanks for that.
You're welcome, looked up on it, FFF was founded in 1965, the CICP in 1992.

Flycasting, so simple that instructors need to make it complicated since 1685

I also nominated you for Miss Nude Regina. You’re currently tied with the current title holder.

It’s Regina, not Montreal.

Do they still have the conclaves or has everything moved online now? I always thought that was a great week.

I think everything has gone online, with a push now for having local gatherings.

Funny actually, there where alot of resistance to having CBOG meetings online when I was on the board, because it was feared that the annual meeting at the conclave would just be people in the field with a ipad... and now for the last years the current cbog have been having monthly meetings. Things change... cool thing though, that the minutes from those meetings are online, so a member can follow what happens. Big thumb up for that!
