Interesting topic and timely…
I’ve been struggling with a chest infection all week so very lethargic and short of breath.
Just popped out to the field, about 1C and very still, casting it feels ‘heavy’, another hour and it feels like it will be misty and below freezing…
Not sure how much it’s my general well being or the weather conditions, but that felt hard work and different to normal… practice distances that were easy last week felt like a struggle.

To be honest, I think it was mostly feeling rough…. But the air conditions didn’t feel at all helpful.

I had the same conditions here Matt and spent very little time on distance today, it would have been time wasted for me. I think that it will be Saturday afternoon before it is worth trying again but I hope to be watching your shitkicking team lose instead :D :D

Get well soon

I reckon another year for Exeter to start to get back to where they were…. Hopefully! They may find it a tough trip away😏

In the mean time I’ve been amusing myself by winding up friends and my other half by supporting Sarries (obviously not against Exeter) who they all obviously dislike… trolling friends lies at the heart of all good sport😂

In terms of casting it would have been more productive pantomiming something in front of the fire, I was out of breath by the time I got to the field😂

Matt,

There’s a reason why Joan Wulff does strength training with a wine bottle. :D

PS. I have a flying tank. Your argument is irrelevant.

PSS. How to generate a climbing loop through control of the casting stroke is left as a (considerable) exercise to the reader.

Didn’t he drink the wine first and replace it with sand?
It's an exploration; bring a flyrod.

Probably. That’s what Joan used to do. (Fill it with sand that is).

I seem to remember you had to do this for a month and then 30 bottles later you were ready to go fishing.

Yep - from whom Joan learned about it.
