Hi Paul,

Good points Paul. If another organisation is created, it will mean one fee for some, two fees for others. I certainly understand your point about one nation casters and the latest three tier ICSF fee structure is an improvement, but still a huge impost on low participant nation casters. It costs a lot to compete in casting WCs and everyone will make their own decision about whether it is justified or not. As to what the future of the sport is, I share your concerns. From a totally personal viewpoint, I hope it continues to be open and affordable to everyone, from anywhere, but like you, have no idea.

Hi Paul,

Not commendable mate, pragmatic. No pay no cast.

As Lasse has pointed out we made a decision via voting at the second WCs to see if the ICSF would reconsider their decision not to be involved with us. I’m not entirely sure why we did this. I think we thought there would be benefits.

Lee wrote to me,
The irony is when we were sold the benifits of joining the ICSF at that 2014 meeting in Norway, the main benifit was access to more funds….
lol, didn’t realise it was my funds
What I don’t like about it, apart from the fact that it costs me more money, is that 2014 is the last time I remember us meeting as a group and making a decision about our future. It seems to me that that decision was to let someone else decide our future.

If I could relive my life with the experience I have today, I could make an entirely different set of mistakes.

Cheers, Paul

And they would probably end you up in the same place again :D

As I remember it, ICSF didn't want flycasting, as they don't want surfcasting. Why they turned around on a dime and wanted flycasting I have no idea about, maybe fast growth of numbers participating, maybe posh flycasters living luxury life sleeping in their car, who knows :p

Flycasting, so simple that instructors need to make it complicated since 1685

Got a Q++ at casting school, wearing shorts ;)

I don’t know mate. But I do know I’ve just had the biggest Spring Clean of my life and it’s not even Spring.

And the Battleship is still a mess. It’s a crazy world we live in.

I've never seen you in a clean mode of transport of any type. Only that one time where you borrowed your mom's car to go to Wales, it wasn't clean when we arrived though... Crazy world indeed!

She must have cleaned it especially because it’s usually worse than mine.

Hi John
Sorry for this late reply, a lot to catch up on here.

The answer to your questions are here from the UK Fly Casting Sport Facebook page.

(£240 per caster for a four night stay from the 16th - 19th August which includes all meals.

Extra days stay on site before or after the competition are quoted as £60 per night per person on a self catering basis.

Registering casting event entries with U.K. Fly Casting Sport is £20 per event and a one off administration fee of £20 per caster)

Best Regards
Lee

So just got an invitation to the world championships, the price has gone down 70 euros, honestly, still out of reach. Hope everyone going will have a great time, good luck!
