Flathead County in Montana. Your recipe is awesomeness. I’m going to use it to redo what I’ve done. You answered some questions that only came up for me only after I started the project, so I’ll get more connectors to make it like yours. I prefer this solid, clean look over the Velveta solution.

Re: Making floating hoops
Ahh, that's a long drive for me. It'll be much faster and cheaper for you to just order off Amazon or slide down to your local hardware store. Better yet: hunt down your local independent plumbing supply store, the wholesaler where all the plumbers shop. Some of them don't sell to the public, but I had a pleasant chat with the owner of a place near me - turns out that he's a (conventional) fisherman himself, and he was happy to help. The prices were only a shade under what I could get on Amazon, but I felt better about that transaction.
Also, as I've continued to play with mine, it's clear that the blue and red hoops get quite hard to see as you lose light in the evening. I think the all-white targets are boring, but I have to admit that they're easier to see at a distance and in fading light. If I were making targets for a proper competition, I'd use white hoops with blue connecting pieces.

Luminous targets would also be cool! Or with internal lights. I’m getting excited now

Try a luminous chicken. You won’t miss that.
