Just saw these.
Talk about price shock, however.

WTF is it sprinkled with fairy dust and flies by itself?

Cheers

Might be the first (plastic) line, which breaks the 200€ barrier in Europe?

I guess clear lines are for catching fishermen.

I think these, particularly the $150 smooth version will sell. I’ve not used a clear floater and my casting suffers from reduced visual feedback with clear intermediates, but certainly I’ve spooked plenty of bonefish with the line in the air when chasing early am tailers and if this line helped avoid it it would be worth the extra cost to me. Problem is that it is not available in either their true weight bonefish line or in a true weight 6wt line. Nor is it available for freshwater use b/o stiffness issues in cold weather ( per the SA guy).

Salt water clear lines, both floating and intermediates, are very popular with tournament anglers in the FL Keys for the prestige tarpon and permit comps.

The clear line manufacturer of choice for many years has dominated sales, but their lines have issues with durability and coiling.

If SA's new line can conquer those issues they will sell a lot of lines to these folks The price is not really an issue either - tournament anglers have excess cash or they would not be in the tournaments, and the poor durability of the older lines meant they were respooling frequently... sometimes using a couple lines each tournament which only last a few days.

I suspect this niche market was a defined target for SA, and the lines are priced to what the market will bear. And if they start being the lines that win the tournaments, the word of mouth advertising will convince the masses to swallow... I mean follow.
